Health & Safety Disclaimer

Version 1.0 · Effective 9 September 2026
Please read this before you use Nied Fitness. It explains what our information is and is not, what we ask you to do before you start training, and what to do if something goes wrong. We have tried to write it plainly, because it matters more that you understand it than that it sounds like a legal document.

1. We give you general fitness and wellness information, not medical advice

Everything in the service — training programs, workout plans, body metric trends, analysis, and anything Virtual Coach tells you — is general fitness and wellness information. It is not medical advice, a diagnosis, a treatment plan, or a prescription of any kind.
We are not a medical organisation. We are not a healthcare provider, a clinic, a medical practice, or a licensed health facility. We do not employ physicians, physical therapists, registered dietitians, or certified personal trainers to review your plan, your logs, or your conversations. Nothing we provide has been reviewed for you by a health professional.
We do not claim that anything in the service will treat, cure, prevent, or mitigate any disease or medical condition.

2. Talk to a physician before you start

Consult a physician or another qualified health professional before starting or changing any exercise program.
This matters especially if you:
  • •
    have a medical condition of any kind, including a heart, lung, metabolic, joint, or musculoskeletal condition;
  • •
    are pregnant, may be pregnant, or are postpartum;
  • •
    take prescription medication;
  • •
    are recovering from an injury, an illness, or surgery;
  • •
    have been told by a health professional to limit or modify physical activity; or
  • •
    have not exercised regularly for a long time.
If a health professional has given you guidance that conflicts with anything in Nied Fitness, follow the health professional. They can examine you. We cannot.

3. The service is intended for generally healthy adults

Nied Fitness is designed for generally healthy adults aged 18 or over who are able to exercise safely without supervision. You must be at least 18 to use it.
It is not designed for, and is not appropriate as, clinical rehabilitation, physical therapy, cardiac rehabilitation, treatment for an eating disorder, medically supervised weight management, or care for any diagnosed condition. If you need that kind of care, please get it from a professional who can provide it.

4. Exercise carries risk, and you accept it

Physical activity carries an inherent risk of injury. That risk cannot be designed away. It exists in every program, at every level of experience, and it includes muscle strains and tears, joint and ligament injury, broken bones, heat illness, fainting, cardiac events, and in rare cases death. Lifting weights, training near your limits, trying an unfamiliar movement, and progressing quickly all raise it.
We do not watch you train. We cannot see your form, your equipment, your surroundings, or how you feel today. You are the only person who can make those judgements in the moment.
You are responsible for training within your ability, warming up, using equipment properly, working in a safe environment, and stopping when something does not feel right. Progress the loads, volumes, and intensities we suggest only as far as is safe for you, and adjust or skip anything that is not.
YOU USE NIED FITNESS AND EXERCISE AT YOUR OWN RISK. YOU KNOWINGLY ACCEPT THE RISK OF INJURY, ILLNESS, OR DEATH ARISING FROM PHYSICAL ACTIVITY, INCLUDING ACTIVITY YOU UNDERTAKE IN RELIANCE ON THE SERVICE.
Your rights and our liability are set out in full in our Terms of Service, including the limitation of liability.

5. Warning signs — stop immediately

Stop exercising straight away and seek medical help if you experience any of the following, during or after training:
  • •
    chest pain, pressure, or tightness;
  • •
    dizziness, light-headedness, or faintness;
  • •
    unusual or severe shortness of breath;
  • •
    sharp pain, or pain that persists;
  • •
    an irregular or racing heartbeat;
  • •
    nausea, confusion, or a cold sweat that is out of proportion to the effort.
Do not try to push through any of these, and do not wait to see whether it passes. Do not ask Virtual Coach what it means — it cannot tell you, and asking costs you time.

6. Emergencies

If you think you are having a medical emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department.
We cannot provide emergency assistance. Nied Fitness is a web application. It is not monitored in real time, no one here watches your training log or your Virtual Coach conversations as they happen, and there is no channel through which we can send help or contact anyone on your behalf.
If you describe an emergency to Virtual Coach, it will stop coaching and tell you to seek urgent care. That message is the only thing it can do. It does not reach us, it does not reach anyone else, and nobody is dispatched. Never rely on the service, or on Virtual Coach, to get you help.

7. Eating disorders and disordered eating

We want to be direct about this, because it is the part of the product that carries the most risk of quiet harm.
Nied Fitness lets you set a goal weight, and it keeps a record of your body weight and your training over time. There is no food logging in the app, and no calorie or macronutrient targets. For many people weight tracking is a useful tool. For some people it is not. If you have a history of anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, or any other form of disordered eating — or if food, weight, or exercise has ever occupied more of your thinking than you wanted it to — daily weighing and chasing a goal weight can make things worse rather than better. Tracking can reinforce restriction, turn training into a scoring exercise, and make a difficult relationship with food harder to recover from.
If any of that sounds like you, or you are not sure, please talk to a doctor or a qualified professional before you start tracking. There is no version of this where the honest answer is that an app should decide it for you.
What the app does, and what it cannot do. Before Virtual Coach answers, we screen what you have written for language associated with disordered eating. When it matches, you do not get a coaching answer: Virtual Coach declines to set the target, and points you to a helpline and to a doctor or a registered dietitian instead. The same screen runs on chest pain, fainting, pregnancy complications, an acute injury, and self-harm.
That is a screen, not an assessment. It is crude by design. It cannot tell whether tracking is healthy for you, it can be worked around, and it is not a substitute for a clinician. Please do not read it as our approval of any particular goal.
Getting help. The National Alliance for Eating Disorders operates a national helpline staffed by licensed clinicians, offering support, referrals, and information for people affected by eating disorders and for the people who care about them. You can reach it at 1-866-662-1235.
If you are in immediate danger, or you are thinking about harming yourself, call 911, or contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
You can stop. You can stop logging at any time without losing your account, and you can delete your account whenever you want. Your Data explains what you can delete and how.

8. Calculations and estimates are not guaranteed

Nied Fitness produces numbers: estimated one-rep maxes, training volume totals, personal records, trends, and analysis. Every one of them is an estimate.
They are produced by general formulas applied to the information you enter. They are not measurements of your body. Real people vary widely from population averages, and the output is only ever as good as the input — a mistyped weight or a workout logged incorrectly changes the result.
We do not guarantee that any calculation, estimate, target, projection, or piece of analysis is accurate, complete, or right for you. Do not use them as a clinical measurement or as a basis for any medical decision.

9. Third-party information and exercise media

Some content in the service comes from third parties, including exercise demonstration media and reference information used in our calculations. We provide it for general information and illustration only.
Exercise demonstrations show one general way to perform a movement. They are not instruction tailored to you, your body, your equipment, or your experience, and following them does not guarantee that a movement is safe for you or that you are performing it correctly. If you are unsure how to perform an exercise, work with a qualified trainer in person.
We do not warrant that third-party content is accurate, current, or suitable for you.

10. No professional relationship is created

Using Nied Fitness does not create a doctor-patient, therapist-patient, dietitian-client, trainer-client, or any other professional or fiduciary relationship between you and us or anyone acting for us. No one here is providing you with professional services, supervising your training, or accepting responsibility for your health.

11. Virtual Coach

Virtual Coach is an artificial intelligence model. It is not a person, it is not a certified or licensed professional of any kind, and it is not supervised by one. Everything in this disclaimer applies to it in full.
Virtual Coach has its own terms and its own disclosures. Please read the Virtual Coach Terms & AI Disclosure before you use it.

12. Changes to this disclaimer

We may update this disclaimer as the app changes. We will update the effective date on this document and, for material changes, give a more prominent notice in the service.
